Participants are encouraged to start building as soon as they receive access to the challenge resources and credits.

The challenge is open to:

  • Startup Founders

  • AI Enthusiasts

  • Members of the Codex Community

Participants may compete individually or as a team.

No prior experience with OpenAI products is required, although familiarity with software development and AI tools is recommended.

 

Project and Submission Requirements

 

Requirements

 

  • Build a project using OpenAI models, APIs, or platform capabilities.

  • Projects must demonstrate meaningful AI integration.

  • Participants are encouraged to leverage advanced Codex capabilities, including the use of AGENTS.md, skills.md, custom agent workflows, or other agentic development patterns where appropriate.

  • Projects should showcase creativity, technical implementation, and practical value.

Prizes Codex Credits Awards
  • 10 winners will each receive $100 in Codex credits

ChatGPT Plus Awards
  • 5 winners will each receive 1 month of ChatGPT Plus

 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

 

 

Projects will be evaluated by community organizers and reviewers based on:

1. Creativity and Innovation (40%)
  • Originality of the idea

  • Unique application of AI capabilities

  • Novel approach to solving a problem

2. Effective Use of Codex and OpenAI Platform (30%)
  • Meaningful integration of OpenAI models and APIs

  • Effective use of agentic workflows

  • Usage of AGENTS.md, skills.md, and related project structures where applicable

3. Technical Execution (20%)
  • Quality of implementation

  • Functionality and reliability

  • User experience and overall polish

4. Real-World Impact (10%)
  • Problem relevance

  • Potential usefulness to users or communities

The judging panel reserves the right to select winners based on the overall quality of submissions and adherence to challenge requirements.
